 MAD auxiliary springs are steel spiral springs that provide additional support to the original spring system when loaded. The suspension systems have been developed in such a way that they give the vehicle a progressive axle characteristic.

An alternative to auxiliary suspension by means of a coil spring is auxiliary air suspension. MAD has two types of auxiliary air suspension:

• a bellow that is placed in the spring
• a bellow that is mounted next to the spring
